Glen Courtney

November 12, 1941 — December 28, 2020

Glen Lee Courtney, age 79, passed away on Dec. 28, 2020 in Great Bend, KS.  Glen was born on Nov. 12, 1941 at Dighton, KS, the son of Eulice James and Blanche (Adams) Courtney.  He was a retired Automotive Technician for Dwight Shank Chevrolet, Larned, KS and a US Air Force Veteran serving from 1963-67.  On Aug. 26, 1977 he married Mildred Rebecca “Becky” (Smith) Steckman at Macksville, KS, she passed away on Oct. 6, 2007.  His memberships include, Macksville Christian Church, Larned Jaycees where he was past President and State Vice President, Dist#7 Jaycees International Senator and lifetime member of VFW, Larned, KS.  Survivors include a son, Samuel L. (Sandy) Courtney, Norton, KS; a brother, Raymond E. (Judith) Courtney, Salina, KS; a sister, Linda A. Browning, Sumter, SC; a grandson, Raymond Hazuka, Hoisington, KS; great grandchild, Athena Pearl Hazuka, Hoisington, KS; 3 nieces, 1 nephew and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Millie Hazuka.  Due to Covid 19, a private family military graveside will take place in the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS, with Pastor Jacob Russell presiding.  Memorials may be given to the Macksville Christian Church or the Macksville EMS in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
