Verla D. (Russell) Estes

Verla D. (Russell) Estes, age 91, passed away on Dec. 15, 2022 at the Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler, KS. She was born on April 28, 1931 in rural St. John, KS., the daughter of Floyd Russell and Margaret Queal. Verla married Lloyd Estes on Nov. 11, 1950 in St. John, KS. She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for the St. John school district for many years. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Estes, Buhler, KS.; son, David (Gay) Estes, Arlington, KS.; daughter, Trish (Mark) Asche, Burrton, KS.; Grandchildren, Marla (Rick) Richardson, Little River, KS, Mandy (Travis) Seeber, McPherson, KS., Keri Asche, Greeley, CO., Kayla (Tyler) Shirey, Lewistown, MO., Heather (Derek) Estes, Turon, KS., Krystal Estes, Sylvia, KS., Derek (Beth) Wade, Cambridge, KS.; and 11 Great Grandchildren. Verla was preceded in death by both of her parents. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with family present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Minnis Chapel, St. John, KS. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Minnis Chapel, St. John, KS., with Pastor Roland Broeder presiding.
