Trudy Risley

Trudy Dell (Fox) Risley, age 72, passed away on March 31, 2021 at Pioneer Ridge Health & Rehab in Lawrence, KS. She was born on February 25, 1949 at Great Bend, KS., the daughter of Maurice Dale and Norma Jean (Smith) Fox. Trudy attended Fort Hays State University, Pratt Community College and received her nursing degree from Dodge City Community College. She went on to be a nurse in the Pratt and Wichita communities. After making a professional career change, Trudy proceeded to serve as a clerk for the Pratt Post Office for 16 years before accepting the postmaster position in Turon, KS., a position she held until retirement.

Trudy was always one to help those in need, with her open arms and caring smile. Spending time with her boys and their families brought her so much joy. Her smile could light up a room.

Survivors include two sons, Jason (Renee) Risley, Olathe, KS., Scott (Katie) Risley, Lawrence, KS.; five grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Hallie, Liliana, and Harper. Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, April 5, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in St. John with Pastor Roland Broeder officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS. Memorials may be given to the University of Kansas Cancer Center Westwood in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
