Ruth Clark

Ruth M. (Workman) Clark, age 93, passed away June 5, 2016 at the Stafford County Hospital. She was born on Dec. 29, 1922 at Garrison, MO, the daughter of John and Flossi (Burkhart) Workman. A school teacher and resident of St. John since the middle 1940’s, she taught in Neola, Zenith, Stafford and St. John schools. She received her Master’s Degree in English at Fort Hays State University and a Master’s Degree in Psychology at Emporia State University. Her memberships include, First United Methodist Church, UMW, Delta Kappa Gamma and Rebekah’s. On June 7, 1941 she married Richard E. Clark at Bolivar, MO, he preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Betty M. Clark, Winfield, KS; two sons, John E. Clark (Vicky), Aztec, NM, William L. Clark (Natalie), St. John, KS; two grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Clark and a great grandchild, Ryder Clark. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and James Workman and two sisters, Alice Claypool and Janice Peterson. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or to the donor’s choice in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS. Memorial service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, St. John with Pastors Nathan Gift and W. Harlan Rittgers presiding.  Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John.
