On Monday, August 26, 2024, Rose Lorene Peschka, passed away in Wichita, KS. Named
Rose Lorene, she was called Lorene, or, more affectionately, “Reney” by those who knew her
best.
Lorene was born on September 4, 1957, to Lawrence and Mary Peschka in Kansas City, MO.
Along with her five siblings, Lorene grew up in Great Bend and St. John, KS. She nurtured her
love of family first as a sister of five siblings, then as a mother, grandmother, and great-
grandmother. She fiercely cherished each of her eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren,
and four adopted great-grandchildren. With an endless supply of love and laughter, Lorene
instilled the values of hard work and perseverance through her own actions.
If there was one thing Lorene couldn't resist, it was good old rock 'n' roll! From Elvis to the
Beatles, she would turn up the volume and dance like nobody was watching. We suspect she's
dancing up a storm in the heavens, grooving to her favorite tunes and sipping on a heavenly Dr.
Pepper, just like old times.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary Peschka, and her brother,
Kevin Peschka.
Lorene is survived by her children Angela (Gary) Gray, Radium, KS, Lawrence (AnnMarie)
Espinosa, Pratt, KS, and Katherine Espinosa (Brandon Capps), Pratt, KS, two sisters, Renee
(Dick) Young, Wichita, KS, Tanya (Larry) Shryock, Cheney, KS, and two brothers, Steven
(Margie) Peschka, Wichita, KS, and Blaine Peschka, Hutchinson, KS, and, as mentioned above,
eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four adopted great-grandchildren, along with
many nieces and nephews.
In the words of her children: “Our dear mother leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and
unwavering strength. May her spirit guide us, and may her memory always bring a smile to our
faces.
Rest in peace, Mom. We love you more than words can express.
With heartfelt gratitude and undying love, your kids,
Angela, Lawrence, Katherine.”
