Milton Rice

Milton LeRoy Rice, age 80 of Pawnee Rock, KS, passed away Dec. 19, 2015 at Hays, KS.  He was born on Feb. 28, 1935 in rural Hudson, KS, the son of Albert L. and Edna (Mettscher) Rice.  Milton was an X-Ray ASME code welder from 1956-1987 and a resident of Pawnee Rock since 1967. He was a member of the American Legion Post #180 and was a blood donor for many years, having donated 201 units. US Army reserves from 1957-1963. On May 18, 1957, he married Merita F. Delker in Great Bend, KS, she survives. Other survivors include a sister, Barbara J. Robertson (Larry), Wichita, KS; son-in-heart, David W. Delker (Barbara), Wichita, KS; sister-in-heart, Kay Parks (Lyle), Salina, KS; sister-in-law, Alpha M. Honaker, Denver, CO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by both parents and a mother-in-law, Bonnie M. Delker.

Inurnment graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday , Dec. 31, 2015 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John with Pastor Wade Russell presiding.  Memorials may be given to the Kansas Eye Bank for Cornea Research in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
