Laura Lou (Kendall) Rodarmel, age 82 passed away on Dec. 24, 2024 at her home in St. John, KS. She was born on Jan. 30, 1942 at Great Bend, KS., the daughter of William Melvin and Zelpha Iona (Smith) Kendall. She had been a Certified Nurse’s Aide, daycare provider, farmer’s wife and part owner of Rodarmel’s Sweet potato business. On Apr. 16, 1965 she married Ira Lee Rodarmel at St. John, he passed away in 1996. She was a member of the Trinity Community Church, Hudson, KS., and the Martha Rebekah Lodge #425, St. John, KS. Survivors include two sons, Melvin (Rebecca) Rodarmel, League City, TX, Alvin (Sarah Woolf) Rodarmel, St. John, KS; two daughters, Melinda (Gailen) Davis, St. John, KS, Sandra (Steve) Tucker, St. John, KS; a sister, Barbara Phillips, Hutchinson, KS; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Florene Batchman. A visitation will be from 1-7 pm, Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 5-7 pm. Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025 at the Trinity Community Church, Hudson, KS, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Memorials may be given to the Hudson Senior Center or the Sunflower Senior Center in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
