Larry Turner

October 16, 1939 — February 28, 2021

Larry Eugene Turner, age 81 passed away on Feb. 28, 2021 at his rural home in St. John. He was born on Oct. 16, 1939 at Larned, KS, the son of Cy W. and Garnette Elaine (Malacheck) Turner.  Larry was a 1957 graduate of Macksville High School, retired farmer-stockman, US Navy Veteran and a resident of St. John since 1968.  On June 11, 1961, he married Norma Jean (Sette) at Belpre, she passed away in 2008.  His memberships include, past Masonic Grand Master, VFW and Ohio Township board member.  He is survived by his two daughters, Jody Wetzel, Spearville, KS, Char (Mark) Weimer, St. John, KS; three grandchildren, Kayla Killinger, Ryan Wetzel, Regan Wetzel and a great grandson, Trevor Killinger. He was preceded in death by Norma Jean Turner and his dear friend Jo Munden.  Visitation will be on Thursday, March 4th from 1-7PM at Minnis Chapel, St. John with family present from 5-7PM.  Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Minnis Chapel, St. John with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial with Military and Masonic Rites will follow at the Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS.  Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice, Arrowhead West of Dodge City or Sunflower Diversified Services in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
