Kenneth Eugene Son

Kenneth Eugene Son, age 69 passed away at his home on Apr. 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.   He was born on Dec. 5, 1954 at Garden City, Ks., the son of Marlin Alton and Margie Irene (Sadler) Son.  His passion and life’s work was being a Cowboy.  He had received his Journeyman Lineman’s Electric certificate from Western Power Company and was a resident of Stafford County since the 1960’s. He was a member of the Trinity Community Church. His first spouse was Shelley Rae (Matthews), married Oct. 2, 1976 at Hudson, she lives in Lees Summit, MO. He later married Kim (Simonson) on Dec. 22, 2018 at Hudson, she resides of the home in rural St. John.  Other survivors include his mother, Margie Irene Son, Great Bend, KS; a son, Wade (Amanda) Son, St. John, KS; a daughter, Jenny (Aaron) Tiday, Greenwood, MO; a step-son, Sam (Danielle) Wright, K.C., KS; a step-daughter, Amy Wright, Denver, CO; 7 grandchildren, Sierra, Isaiah, Ethan, Hannah, Lily, Maddox and Lakyn. He was preceded in death by his father Marlin Alton Son and a brother, Randall Paul Son. A celebration of life service will be 3:00 PM, Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Trinity Community Church, Hudson, KS., with Pastor Wade Russell presiding.  Memorials may be given to Trinity Community Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
