John Riegel

John Henry Riegel, age 76, passed away Mar. 10, 2018 at Hutchinson Regional Hospital.  He was born on July 17, 1941 at Lynwood, CA, the son of Gerald J. and Melba L. (Sterling) Riegel.  John was a retired Stafford County Road Department employee, he also previously worked for the State of Kansas Highway Department and was former owner of Antlers Smokehouse. John served his Country in the US Army from 1963-65.  On Nov. 7, 1968 he married Carol A. (Amey) at Pratt, KS., she survives.  Other survivors include his two sons, Maverick Riegel (Sarah), Great Bend, KS, Aric Riegel (Katy), St. John, KS; a daughter, Amy O’Brien (Peyton), Great Bend, KS; a brother, Bill Riegel, Topeka, KS; nine grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, on Thursday, Mar. 15, 2018 at Minnis Chapel, St. John with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1-7PM at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the USD 350 Education Foundation or Love Gift to Family in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
