Jacqueline Joan Moody, lifelong resident of Stafford and Barton Counties, died on March 16, 2026 at Stafford Hospital Stafford, Kansas at the age of 95. She was born on August 8, 1930, in Stafford, Kansas, the daughter of Milton Mason Jr. and Margeurite (Lickiss) John.
Joan graduated from St. John High School in 1948. Joan worked as the First United Methodist Church Secretary, and later worked for St. John District Hospital as a Receptionist and Transcriptionist, she then worked in medical records for Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, KS until she retired at the age of 79. Alongside, her husband Jack, she was owner/operator of Moody Implement Company Inc., St. John from 1985-2010.
On July 1, 1951, Joan married John Paul “Jack” Moody Sr. in St. John, KS. Jack preceded her in death on May 12, 2010. Joan is survived by her daughter Jo Ellen Moody, Little Elm, TX; and two nephews Rex (Terry), and Rick (Sue). Joan was so appreciative for her kind, caring neighbors and friends who saw that she was taken to doctor appointments and other errands during her later years, some which include David and Elaine Jones and family, Joe and Lisa Cornwell and family, Tim and Di Fisher and family, Bruce and Johnna Stanford and family, Deanna Williamson and family, Lupe Hudson, Marg and Kennie Clark and family, Beth Krehbiel and family and Mark and Doris Tompkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, John Paul Moody Jr., her brother Milton Mason John, Jr., and her 20 year old cat Bailey.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, St. John, KS; and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed watching her westerns, and attending church.
Visitation will be 1:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Minnis Chapel, 526 E. 4th St., St. John, KS. Celebration of life will be 10:30 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2026 at Minnis Chapel, St. John. Interment will be at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist church to Minnis Chapel, 526 E. 4th Ave, PO Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
