Hurley "Joe" Gillette
May 9, 1959 — January 6, 2015
Hurley (Joe) M. Gillette, Jr ., age 54 died Jan. 6, 2015 at his home in St. John. The son of Hurley M. and Helen L. (Curry) Gillette, Sr. Life-long resident of St. John, he was an avid NASCAR racing fan, Dale Earnhardt being his favorite. He also raised rat terrier dogs and show rabbits. On Dec. 5, 2008 he married Barbara K. (Frazier) at St. John, she survives of the home. Other survivors include a step-son, Daniel Newingham; two step-daughters, Beatrice Newingham and Sharon Fishgrab. He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Electa Louise Gillette.
Graveside service will be 11:00 am, Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, with Pastors Tom Harrison and J.P. McCamey presiding. Love gift offerings may be given to the family in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
