Grace Reneau

November 15, 1925 — September 14, 2017

Grace A.  (Hankla) Reneau, age 91 passed away on September 14, 2017 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton, KS.  She was born on November 15, 1925 at Row, OK, the daughter of Willis and Wilda Josephine (Phillips) Hankla.  A life-long resident of St. John, she worked for the St. John Schools as a custodian.  On August 9, 1974 she married Hobart Dean Reneau, he preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of the Shepherd’s Center, VFW Ladies Auxiliary since 1997, volunteered distributing local commodities and had a passion for gambling and lottery scratch tickets.  She is survived by many grandchildren, including Kyle Fischer (Bobbi), Turon, KS, Jadina Crowe (Mike), Sedgwick, KS; a sister-in-law, Mary Jo Hankla, Springdale, Arkansas; a step-son, Kenneth Reneau (Lori), Great Bend, KS; four step-daughters, Laressa Gardner (Jack), Larned, KS, Barbara Koester, Larned, KS, Anita Barker (Fred), Poplar Bluff, MO, Candace Zaske (Kevin), Redwood Falls, MN; six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband Dean, a brother Waite Hankla, a sister Lola Bell, a step-son Ronnie Reneau and a nephew  Dusty Bell.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Trinity Community Church, Hudson, KS, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding.  Burial will follow in the Trinity Cemetery, Hudson, KS. Visitation will be on Monday, September 18th from 1-7PM at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7PM.  Memorials may be given to the Shepherd’s Center in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.
