Gerald “John” Felke, age 77 passed away Apr. 30, 2017 at Stafford County Hospital. He was born on June 25, 1939 at Great Bend, KS, the son of Alvin J and Minnie Debes Felke. He was a retired Machinist for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft in California. John and his wife were full-time Rv’ers for thirteen years then a resident of Stafford since 2015. John was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion. On Mar. 13, 1991 he married Carol Sue Reneau at Bellflower, CA, she survives. Other survivors include a step-son, Kevin Bieberle, fiancée Sonny, Great Bend, KS; three step-daughters, LyAnna McComb, Greensburg, KS; LaTana McComb Beaumont, fiancé Mike, Great Bend, KS; LoRita Heinson, husband Dewayne, Greensburg, KS; two brothers, Frank Felke, wife Joan, Billings, MT, Donald Felke, wife Virginia, Falcon, CO; a sister, Nadine Penka, husband Vernon, K.C., MO; 9 grandchildren, Shawn, Justin, Danny, Samantha, Shanda, Sheridan, Talisha, Zak, Nick; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Maurice Felke and granddaughter Tabitha. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Minnis Chapel, St. John with Rev. Carl Feril presiding. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Seward, KS. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-7PM at the funeral home with family present from 5-7PM. Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post #170 at Westcliffe, CO, in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS. 67576.
