George Walls

George D. Walls, age 89 passed away Oct. 21, 2015 at the Stafford County Hospital. He was born on Oct. 21, 1926 at St. John, the son of Fred and Ruth (Shotton) Walls. He was a life-long resident of St. John and a Farmer/Stockman. On Apr. 24, 1954 he married Helen M. (Tubbs) at Turon, KS, she preceded him in death. His memberships include, First United Methodist Church, 32nd Degree Masons, Elks Lodge of Pratt, Past USD 350 St. John-Hudson School Board member and President, St. John Township board member and US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Staub (Kenny), Great Bend, KS, Connie Gross (Tim), St. John, KS; a brother, Charles C. Walls, Ulysses, KS; a sister, Della Ann Anderson, Riverton, WY; 2 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife; a brother, Freddie D. Walls; three sisters, Violet Nikkel, Evon Schlotterbeck and Juanita Poorman.
Graveside service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding. Visitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home, from 1-7PM with family present from 5-7PM. Memorials may be given to the Shriner’s Burn Institute in c
