Dorothy May Tucker, age 97, passed away Feb. 24, 2016 at Leisure Homestead, St. John. She was born on June 8, 1918 at Gering, NE, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Mattison) Pinney. She was a homemaker and a retired cook for St. John Schools and a resident of St. John since 1962. Her memberships were First Christian Church, New Hope United Methodist Church and Rebekah’s Lodge all of St. John. She was preceded in death by her husbands John Hayden in 1964 and Melvin Tucker in 1991. Survivors include a son, Sam Hayden (Judy), Macksville, KS; three daughters, Johnie Medina (Ise), Leoti, KS, Carol Tyler, Ulysses, KS, Della Tucker, St. John, KS; a step-daughter, Barbara McKinzie, St. John, KS; a daughter-in-law, Donna Tucker, St. John, KS; 12 grandchildren, many great grand and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 step-sons, James and Gary Tucker, brothers, Elmer, Dean, Ray, Charlie, Earl and Glen; sisters, Jean, June, Mabel and Margaret; grandchildren, Jill Marie Medina, Baby Bruce Eugene Tyler, Erik Douglas Hayden and Tyler Foster Kiehne. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Minnis Chapel, St. John with Pastor Gina Tyler presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-7PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Leisure Homestead Employee Fund at St. John in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
