Bill D. Seward

Bill D. Seward, age 80 passed away on Feb. 26, 2024 at Pratt, KS.   He was born on Sept. 11, 1943 at Carnegie, OK, the son of George and Leta (Jones) Seward.  He was a retired grain elevator worker for Dillwyn Grain.   On Nov. 24, 1973 he married Jacquetta L. (Campbell) at Macksville, KS., she preceded him in death in 2007.  Bill had been a fireman for the Macksville Volunteer Fire Dept., past Macksville city policeman and had a proud heritage from the Cherokee Indian Nation. Survivors include two sons, Douglas E. Seward (Roberta), St. John, KS., Nathan L. Seward, Springfield, MO; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne, Jim and Ernest Seward.  He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife, Jacquetta; brothers, John and Leonard and a sister, Judy.  A graveside service will be 11:00 AM, on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, KS., with Pastor Jacob Russell presiding.  Memorials may be given to the Macksville Fire Department in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
