Betty Jewell Freeman DeGarmo Lutz, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 16, 2024, at Colonial Village in Overland Park, Kansas. Betty was a resident of Macksville, Kansas for over sixty years before moving to the Kansas City area to be closer to her children.
Betty’s life was celebrated with a service on November 30, 2024, in Lenexa, Kansas.
A graveside service will be held for the interment of ashes at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2025, at Farmington Cemetery, Macksville, Kansas. The service will be followed by a gathering at Macksville Christian Church. The family would like to welcome everyone to either or both events.
Betty was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Robert DeGarmo, her second husband, Eldon Lutz, and her son, Jeff DeGarmo. She is survived by her three daughters, Chrissy (Tom) Hudson, Debbie (Kelly) Kephart, and Julie (Don) Burkhart, as well as 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
