Artie Jones

Artie R. (Elliott) Jones, age 93 passed away Mar. 2, 2017 at Great Bend Regional Medical Center.  She was born on Aug. 1, 1923 at Aline, OK, the daughter of George Lee and Martha Elizabeth (Kelley) Elliott.  On Oct. 19 1941 she married Glenn S. Jones at Enid, OK, he passed away on Sept. 19, 2001.  They moved to St. John from Aline, OK in 1955 where Glenn farmed and worked in the oilfield. Artie was a homemaker. She took pride in the annual vegetable garden, berries and fruit trees.  Her passion was cooking and candy making.  There wasn’t a family meal go by without chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes and homemade rolls.  At Christmastime she made a variety of homemade candies.  Survivors include, a daughter, Connie Dietz (Don), Olathe, KS; a son, Steve Jones (Jeni), St. John, KS; 9 grandchildren, Dinah Henry (Jeff), Deanna Brown (Todd), Darren Dietz (Robin), Brian Eisenhour, Kim Bollig (David), Eric Kaiser (Jessica), Brandon Jones (fiancée Bree Keesling), Keaton Jones, Lyndsey Jones (fiancée Michael Wipf); 10 great grandchildren, Hayley, Hannah, Logan, Hayden, Dexter, Chantelle, Ellie, Colton, Cooper and Juliet; one great great grandchild on its way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, Linda Eisenhour and Kathy Kaiser; ten brothers and sisters and a grandson Tyler.

Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, Mar. 4, 2017 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS, with Pastor Wade Russell presiding.  Visitation will be on Saturday from 9AM until service time at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to Sunflower Senior Citizens in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O.
